Getting off front disc - gsa 1150

I have to admit that I thoght it might be easier to get them off with wheel on - dont really have many people here to help (I live in the sticks in Denmark) wife not much good at this kind of thing.

So I'll get the wheel off, buy myself a the right socket (and not use the bmw supplied alun key) for my wrench and have a go at it, I'll use the heatgun if all else fails.

Your disc may have torq headed bolts, not allen bolts.

As others have said, good quality hex drivers make a lot of difference. Several years ago I paid what I thought at the time was stupid money for a set of Snap On 3/8" drive hex bits. But I use them all the time and they give you much more confidence with fasteners which seem very dubious with 'allen keys' - money well spent IMO.

Yes, I remember buying some snap on gear from a guy in a van, when he told me the price of my goods, I then looked at this van as an aladdins cave.

No snap on people here in Dk.

Bought the torx bits for the discs, got the discs off, replaced washers and mounting nuts with shiney new ones. Got on the bike and the original problem of clicking front wheel when braking is all gone.

Thank christ thats sorted. But it will teach me to buy a cheap crappy torx set as I've turned them to cheese in trying to get the bolts off.

Does anybody have a picture of the spring washers? Either mine have ALL completely disappeared or my bike doesn't have them.

Replaced mine and the front disc's but there's still a lot of play in 'em so...
