Has anyone got one of these racks. I'm thinking of using Ortlieb Motorcycle panniers but they will need a rack of some sort and the Givi is about the cheapest about. I'm thinking of using the Ortlieb QL2 hooks to mount the panniers but need to know what the diameter of the frame tubing is - it needs to be 16mm or less.

Thanks

P

Not got one, but thinking of buying one for a tour through France this summer (have 2 old pannier cases in the loft).

Would be interested to hear what someone who has used them thinks before I go out and buy one..

Have now bought and fitted them. Seem fine. Very pleased. Buying secondhand (panniers and topbox from Ebay) with new rack and topbox mounting from DK kept the cost below £350 for everything!

harleyquin, how does the frame fit to the top plate? the givi wesbsite says they only fit with the E194 top plate, but I'm thinking/hoping I could bodge a fitting to a vario/nonfango/ally plate instead cos we've got a nonfango box fitted to Mrs Gringo's 650 just now and also have a vario plate for it and don't want to buy full givi, just the E21s cos she likes the look of em.

cheers :thumb

The ones in the photo above are fitted to the Givi top plate.

minor correction...

:blast sorry, put wrong name at top of my post - meant you Ferret, not Harlyquin.
and yep I know that's a givi top plate:pullface...what I want to know is could the pannier frames be fitted with any other brand of top plate (with/without bodging)
