I'm looking to do something similar - I was going to use a Givi monokey plate from a Honda ST1100 which is alloy instead of plastic. Anyone tried this ?

i have an alloy monokey plate too but the plastic one is physically smaller so i used that one,no reason why the ally one wont work.
