Givi Trekker - really dissapointed

Having bought a full set of Givi Trekkers less than 2 years years ago. The 46ltr box leaks (apparently they all do). Also the frames are going really rusty. Really not acceptable for what they cost.

For the pannier, I'm wondering if I can fix it with some silicone tubing. For the frames, should I just paint them or have them powder coated?

As I was looking to buy a 46L, where do it leak?
Is this the main seal or the small opening.

The main seal. My friend has the upgraded one with 2 extra latches but it's exactly the same

You just reminded me - Givi UK say they will send the latches FoC to those of us who bought the Trekkers without. I gave them my details at the NEC last year and never heard back... Must rattle their cage.

I have the 46l as a top box and never had problems with leaks, though the damned thing worked loose on the rubber bungs on the mounting plate and I needed to improvise pads underneath the box to stop this.

My 33l side cases leak slightly - not helped by the big indentation surrounding the catch, which gathers water and then spills it into the pannier when you open it!

However, all-in-all, I think they are a fine bit of kit. I've had the racks for donkey's years and they always rust over winter - I just clean and repaint them at the same time I do the pillion-peg brackets and a few other "vulnerable" spots on the bike in spring when the salt goes.

My previous experience of Givi UK customer service has been spot-on. When I got the Trekkers and tried to fit them, the top-box interfered with the side cases and I couldn't fit both together. An email to Givi got me a free replacement mounting plate (retail about £90, IIRC)
