Has anyone got the Givi xstream tanklock enduro tank bag, I'm tempted to try one but which model suits Gs best. XS306/307/308, and what are your impressions.

I have the Givi XS307 on my GTR1400 it's a nice bag. I've cut the silly drawstring inner out because it doesn't form any useful function, it just gets in the way. My reservation about putting it on a WC is that it's not contoured on the base so would look very odd!

I have the small one and the largest one, can't remember the model names, bought a few months back with a tank ring for my. Yamaha. I normally ride the GS with the large BMW tankbag. I now want to get a Givi ring and use the smaller Givi bag which I now prefer over the large tankbag which my guts catch when I stand up, lol.

Givi xstream tanklock enduro tank bag X308

I have the X308 on my GSA and it is excellent. I have a couple of minor gripes. It has a permanently fixed shoulder strap which is a real pain to stow when it is on the bike and there is no way to lock the tank bag onto the bike for security reasons if you want to leave it unattended.

I bought a 308 for a Spain trip.
Heading to Portsmouth for the ferry the bag fell off the ring. I assumed that it was my belly pushing in to it which knocked it out of place, so used the adjusting screws to move it as far forward as possible and turned the bum bag through 180degrees.
It fell off again, and again and again etc.
I ended up zip tying it on to the offside pannier.
Luckily my friendly local bike dealer was with me for the trip and he refunded on returning home.
According to Givi, there was a faulty batch of the rings which attached to the bag.
However, whilst this method of attaching the bag it is a great idea the actual mechanism itself is very flimsy.

Hi, I have 2 "Bags Connection" tank bags with their quick lock ring which is solid/snug fit to their range of 4 in total bags that are available for the GS WC, I don't remember the names of the bags but I got them from winding roads from the Bmf show earlier in the year, (I bought 2 bags & they supplied the lock ring cheap)
Also they don't catch the tank paintwork or my partly fat tummy..
I previously had the genuine BMW tank bag that is for sale should you wish to try one cheaper than current prices..
One advantage is the BMW one is waterproof without rain jacket. (Useful this time of year)

I found the tank ring for my 2015 GS keyless cap today, Givi BF11 just in case anyone needs it.

Tanklock ring and GSA

Does the Givi tank lock ring prevent using the little tank compartment thing?

Like Voz.I think a smaller tankbag is best to maximise "riding" space.

snaponphil, I'm curious about the Givi v BM bag comparison.
May I ask ? Is the Givi the only one with the locking ring type attachment?

I'm looking at the 15 litre XS307 £68 ish but would prefer advice before I buy....

SW Motech Bags Connection tank bags also use a locking ring and it's the same diameter as the rim of the filler cap :thumby: You can just about see it in this photo (my GS LC parked next to my old RT which I stumbled across at a Steam Fair a couple of years ago)

I don't have the Givi but use the SW Motech smallest ION bag which sits neatly on the tank. It's got a transparent folder in the lid, so great for ferry docs etc. and is big enough for phone & charger, visor cleaning kit, one of those Pertex windproof jumper things, specs/sunnies and will even fit a spare pair of gloves in as well if it is expanded. I take it with me when I leave the bike as it is so small - and it has my wallet in it in any case....

Hi Tomcat, thanks for posting. Appreciated ... I haven't seen the SW Motech ION , so will take a look.

It sounds perfect. (Despite enjoying GPS (Hey, thanks to Wapping's tips, I'm getting better with BaseCamp!) )
There is nothing like having a map in a clear folder for a good "route-overview"

I'm a bit disappointed that the Touratech tank bags dont have the locking ring mechanisms.
Surely "strapping and webbing" across the tank is a bit well, "old-hat "?
Their Ambato EXP Sport (in Red) looks attractive!
