Further to Turpin's info about the tearoom being up for sale, I've had very reliable info that Peter (:blast), Mine Host from the SS Killin Crazies Weekend has a bid in for this :(

Without wishing to say too much about this guy, I think anyone who was on the SS overnighter to Killin last year will agree that he's not the type of guy that you'd go out of your way to support. Who can forget him taking 15 quid of guys for the honour of sleeping in those caravans?

Let's hope that someone else gets in with a higher bid because I honestly can't see me going out of my way to ride up to Glen Lyon and give Peter any of my heard earned. At most, I'd buy a coffee just to be able to sit at Boxertools Bench and pay my respects to Mick.

Such a shame because it really is a top spot and long standing SS watering hole. If he does get the tearoom tennancy, I hope his lunches for the public are better than his own nosebags :augie

On the strength of those comments about the Killin escapade this would appear to be a bad move lets hope he gets gazumped? by someone else.

Also lets not forget why we went there last weekend and lose the 'bench' to some thoughtless nerd who may not care a jot what he does to the tearoom and its furniture:mad::eek::mad::eek:

I can see where you're coming from but I dont think there'll be any worries on that score. The Boxertools family know Peter well...:thumb

I was up a couple of weeks ago Ronno ,sat at the bench and had a cuppa and a Sannie and all was right with the world ,would be a shame tae see it goin tae a Fud .If the wife could open a can a Tuna (canny cook wurth a Feck), ah would consider a bid maself.
