Gloves - as hard as boots to buy online

Liked the idea of those Bike racing gloves which often have the ring and little fingers sewn together to enhance safety. This design helps protect the little finger during falls, reducing the risk of injury.

Would you use those with stitched fingers or like some racers do, cut the stitches without damaging the gloves, when preferring 3 finger braking?

I checked some out from Fieldsheer over £150.00, I'm still using my old pairs. And if I do happen to fall off, hopefully roll with hands tucked in, like how racers are taught.

Maybe just me but I think since a lot of the manufacturing moved east, Large for about 9” hand is a highly variable size. The BKS gloves I bought from Motolegends (since returned) were L and would barely go on. I decided not to buy their XL because if the sizing was that far out, I start to question other details.

It may well just be you, I’m a size 9, large, always have been I bought some of the bks gloves and they fit perfectly, great gloves by the way.

I struggle to buy boots online that fit me, I really need to be in a shop with a good selection to try on to find a good fit.

Gloves are increasingly the same it seems. I’ve recently bought a pair of BKS summer gloves then a pair of Richa adventure gloves, both the correct size according to their measurements and neither is anywhere close. Either my hands grow whenever I take gloves out the bag or sizing isn’t as accurate as it used to be, even taking initial wearing into account.

So, they are now added to the category of only buy in a shop.

Gloves are a pain and I find that the only makes that seems true to size across their full range are HELD and HALVARSSONS .
Richa had a huge difference in gloves across their ranges as does Rukka and many other makes I have tried .
I take a size ten glove but have tried on Rukka gloves that I needed a size 12 to get a decent fit , same with Richa
Tend to go to one of the Infinity shops that are well stocked or buy from Louis when I am in Germany or Austria .
As for boots it is Altberg every time

Boots are easy.... Altberg

Helmet....I go to the NEC show every few years so I can try as ll the likely models under one roof

Gloves are harder.... Biggest issue for me is that I want that unicorn glove. Plenty of dexterity, warm when it's cold, cool when it's hot, and waterproof when it rains, and breathable when.....

I was in yesterday, they don’t have many gloves unfortunately and none fitted. The closest were Klim Adventure but only two sizes in stock, neither quite right. A trip to Glasgow needed, unless I find a shop in London when we’re there mid September

Infinity has several stores in central London, often with a very good stock list held in store.

I would guess that, in September, they might well be stocking more autumn / winter lines, rather than spring or summer, but you never know.

Flights have now been reinstated Inverness to Birmingham. Cheap as chips in advance with easyJet. Get yourself down to the NEC show I’m sure you’ll find something there to suit.

Agree, I have XL size hands, a lot of glove manufacturers assume XL means fingers the length of ET's. Another for SBS Try/Buy service. You can order a number of items to try different manufacturers/sizes (up to 10 I think) & only pay if you buy (no obligation). Worth a thought when next you find yourself heading for Glasgow (your nearest SBS)

I buy a few pairs from Sportsbike shop then return / change to suit.

I like to read up in advance and narrow down my selection as there can simply be too much choice in some shops.

They have a great selection and I have used this to buy boots, lids, gloves, jeans and jackets.

Yeah, I have a pair of Held Sambias which are large size with medium finger length. Love 'em.
