I have stumbled for the last 10 years using windows and am now to the point that if a minor fault occurs on my computer I can fix it but I hate it, my last problem to 8 hrs to fix.

So I would like to have a go with an Apple, I have looked at the new 27" imac but the screen is too large for my work space, the 21.5 is ok.
I have also looked at the previous model, 24" 2.93GHz/640GB hard drive/4GB memory, which is currently £200 off at my local John Lewis.

My question is/ or more appropriately, I would like your opinion on:

What are the benefits of the new imac over the old, and should I just splash the cash and go with the new model.
Also where does the Mac Mini fit into all this?

Thanks

i have the imac before the one you've found reduced, first of the ali models. never given any grief or been unable to do what's been asked of it.

the new ones, especially the 27", are rather nice though :augie

that's the real trouble with apple stuff. the constant urge for needless upgrades :mmmm

how do they do that?

the mac mini is a great little computer, but the imac is the one.

I've had the new 21.5" iMac about three weeks now :thumb

Certainly wouldn't go back to a conventional PC ..

Few problems getting my iTunes across but well worth it in my book. Everything just works, no hang ups... bloody marvellous :thumb
