IIRC you don’t get the filter done, just the oil.
Whose doing the job ?

My local, Farnham Honda; told me Honda would replace the oil and the filter. Let’s see what happens.

That’s interesting, I told MKS I wanted the filter doing as well

One benefit of the engine bolt recall is you get your oil and filter changed gratis and can have the air filter changed for a nominal fee (presumably the cost of the new filter)whilst they are at it (per my local Honda dealer who is doing mine in 4 weeks)

That was the case here for the air filter at first, but mechanics discovered a way to replace the bolt from (I believe) underneath which saves couple hours. But then that means they're no longer near the airbox to replace the filter.

I'm sure they do, it's flat rate. Manufacturers don't pay more when it takes longer to diagnose or complete a warranty repair, dealers don't reimburse manufacturers when they can do it quicker. I don't like the system but that's what it is.

Probably have a rethink about Stratford `Honda, went there yesterday to book Bike in for 18000 mile service which I thought was still in the 3 year service plan to be told the plan ran out at 27mths and my Service would be just over £900.

Actually, they told you the truth. The service plan covers the 600 mile service, then 2 yearly services but have to be used within 27 months of first registration.
£900 does sound a bit steep though. However, it possibly includes the air filter which is a long job.
not knowing where you are it’s difficult to suggest an alternative.
Also, is your bike on the bolt recall ?
If so, it gets new oil when they do it, and I’m told it’s cheaper to get the air filter done while it’s in bits.

Just a thought is it still under Honda Extended manufacturer's warranty and Breakdown cover for three years or is that just 27mths as well forgot to ask them that.

The warranty is 3 years regardless

This guy seems pretty good, works on most stuff and did a great job on engine build for my Husky and done work on a few bikes for a mate, will be doing my KTM from now on (he has a couple of them himself) but last time i was there had a Wing in and he said he sees a few of them;
