roundabouts!
a couple of queries.

Went to see an 03 Adventure last night with the overland pack and ali luggage and only 2500 miles on it. My only beef was that it wasn't an ABS model - why?

Well after coming from an 02 servo assisted ABS standard GS - I just felt like the brakes were vague and unresponsive. Even if the Servo did snatch a bit at slow speed.

Would you guys expect the same?..did think that maybe the callipers might have seized given the mileage and age and that the beast has probably spent a fair time laid up in the garage.

I felt like I was grabbing a handful and not much was happening.

The other thing was the tool kit, I didn't examine it but assume that the rollbag kit doesn't comprise the same tools as the standard underseat box set - is that right?

Other than that I've put the deposit down - it's a real beaut and rode a treat. Can't wait for that personal loan to arrive so I can go pick her up.

YIPPPEEEE :D

Sounds like it would be worthwhile getting the dealer to bleed and refresh the brake fluid. Sure it's going to feel different from a servo but I wouldn't describe my non-ABS brakes as feeling vague. There's plenty there but ifthe brake fluid is more than a year old and the thing has hardly been used it's be my choice to have new fluid put in.

Toolkits are identical. Get the dealer to clean and lube the calipers at the same time as changing the fluids - there's a good chance the pins are corroded. There's NOTHING vague about the non-ABS brakes on my 02 Adv...

Mike:)

Yip the non abs evo brakes are good.......but seem to require a bit of preventitive maintenance!

Cheers guys..

bike not supplied via that sort of dealer..so I fancy doing it myself..bit of abonding experience and all that..

more soon

Never had any problems with the non-ABS brakes on my ADV

...other than the fact that they're prone to winter siezure
