An 1150GS has been on the cards for a good while now and yesterday I did the deed and shook hands on a 'pre-enjoyed' 2002 model in the fetching blue and white.

I pick it up next Friday, giving me plenty of time to peruse my new Wunderlich catalogue.

So it's farewell to my faithfull R1100RS-SE and it's hello to global domination :D

Shame about the colour but congratulations anyway.
Everybody knows that Battleship Grey (sorry, Graphitan Metallic) is THE colour and anything else is for posurs & pretty boys!

Whatever you do don't look at the Wunderlich catalogue, you will be siezed by an overwhelming desire to spend lots of money (I did, I was and I have).

Alan:D

Well done! you won't regret it.

Good choice on the Blue & White, not as Common as the others:D

Now get down the bank and get a loan for all the extras......The sky's the limit.

Hello Twotter,

Well, that's a reasonable choice of bike...but maybe an 1100GS would have been better!!??

Anyway, welcome to this "club" but also a word of warning.......watch out for replies to your posts from a certain Bakerman as I believe his spelling isn't so good and he could make a wee mistake with your name! :)

See ya.......

Noooooo!! not another 'Tarts Handbag' their as common as muck and to make matters worse people put shiny bits on them...I despair :nenau

Welcome to the Dark side of BMW ownership :cloak

Picked it up on Friday and haven't stopped grinning like an idiot since :D

Tell me Twotter, do you treat your kite like you treat your women?

Got it from my second favourite site, British Army Rumour Service (and I say that as an ex-RAF bod) :D

Saw the TV programme and now I use the avatar in support of all those serving and ex-forces :bow

Even got my Veterans badge the other day :)

Yes, still got the 1150. Bought it with 11k on it and now up to 56k. I use it as my everyday transport and I'm known as the biker with the BMW at work. Went to Garmisch in 2005, Ypres & the Somme in 2006 and recently a trip to Arnhem. The bike is a bit battle scarred now but if it doesn't get to 100k then I'll be a bit miffed.

Dare I say it but I've finished blinging it up and have even started thinking about buying an airhead to keep the GS company.

Who's Bakerman ??? :D
