My 1 week old GSA Rallye. Forced entry into garage by a gang that had targeted the bike. Gutted beyond words as my car was taken last year and I struggled to insure the bikes last time. 40 years riding... no idea why I’m posting this but go check your security - then add to it. You don’t want this feeling

Sorry to hear this news, in the nicest way, I hope you don't get bike back.

Thankfully no one was hurt, you can get a new bike, not a new you !

Always gutted to read, but as has been said, the bike is gone - you are safe.

I am in your area and take security very seriously, but if targeted and they don’t get it first time, they’re coming back with the extra tools to do the job, so yes, a secure garage, bike alarmed, disc lock and chain, but other than that and they can take it.

All the best bud.

I have an alarmed garage with an electric roller shutter. I also have the disc lock (alarmed) and a ground anchor with oxford monster chain. The wife's car is always on the drive in front of the entrance when we are home. But I always expect to come back from work and see its gone. Paranoia????
Sorry to read your news this morning.

Man, words can not describe how I feel about your loss, where about do you live as I am forever twitching about the security on our bikes.

You’re not the only one! I always pop my head in the garage, to make sure it’s still there whenever I get home!

Sad news.

Try Searching Amazon and eBay for a device called HackRF. Time to round up everyone that bought one and ask them to justify.

That is so s**t.
What is going on with all the bmw theft? That used to be one of the benefits of ownership that they would be overlooked in preference to the fast Japanese and Italian bikes.
Is there that big of a demand for dodgy parts considering it’s us owners would be the buyers of these parts.
If the bike is being sold whole it could never be connected to the mothership again for updates.

I just picked up a new Rallye and when I swapped the insurance the underwriter demanded it have a tracker and a ground anchor in the garage. Then they decided they would no longer offer fully comp at the invoice price as I commute on the bike.

I think bmw need to offer a factory tracker with hooks all the way into the ECUs (yes this will go horribly wrong) that completely cripple all electronics unless connected back at a dealer

And I think the police and the courts should be coming down so heavily on the thieves, and those handling stolen goods, that it’s not worth the risk.
It’s been mentioned on another thread that theft of a £65k vehicle seems to be treated a lot lighter than theft of £65k from a bank.
Under funding of our prisons is resulting on all but the worst crimes being dealt with by a gentle slap on the wrist.
Get them banged up for hard time, and told in no uncertain terms, “if you do it again, it’ll be double next time”.

They should bring back the death penalty. Then wipe out all the old fuckers in prison that won’t ever leave, and free up some cells for these cûnts.
