Good Campsite in Normandy?

Hi,

I'm planning a solo trip to do the Normandy beaches in a couple of weeks, just for three nights or so. Does anyone know of a good campsite in the area that I can use as a base? With a bar, food....the kind of things that make life good. Any help would be much appreciated.

Bayeux municipal site is very good, I've just got back from a week there. It's about a 15 min. walk into Bayeux from the site. Cost about 3.5 euro for the pitch and 4 euro per person. There is a bread van that comes round each morning and the driver's quite pretty

You'll find the site on the D613 Bayeux ring road just to the east of the Arromanches turning.

Can recommend Arromanche Municiple Campsite. 7Euros per night per pitch. Includes a token for the showers(which are very good). Easily found on the Rue Verdun, its signposted which ever way you come into Arromanche. The town/beach is a 5 minute walk with plenty of places to eat/drink. There is a shop for supplies 2 minutes walk away by the Coach/car park. I will be there for the weekend 27/30 June. If you are going over that W/E maybe we can meet up.

Thanks for this as well. I'm thinking of going weekend 21/22nd. I was going to go to Italy....but I think I've been let down by a couple of mates, so this is Plan B, because I've got the days booked off work.

I can also recommend Arromanche Municiple Campsite. Just got back from there. Its a nice quiet site thats biker friendly. The town has a small supermarket 2 mins from the site, theres a bakers about a min out of the bottom gate shut on wednesdays but open on Sundays. I can also recommend the chinese at Bayeux its on the ring road 30 secs to the right if you come from Arromanche.
