This is where we stayed on the Turkey Trot in March 2008. We plucked it at random from the Rough Guide book, when many of the other hotels were full. It was a good find.

Smallish, family run hotel, very friendly.
Right in the heart of the old city, two minutes walk from the Blue Mosque, Saint Sophia, the tram line and many of the other tourist sites.
Separate car park out the front, open, so not secure but we had no trouble. That costs 12 TL (peanuts) for 24 hours. Car park gets busy, so make sure you reserve a spot, the hotel owner will do it for you.
Euro 99 - High season rate - for a twin room (10% discount for cash) - High season starts in March - for bed and breakfast. Clean, efficient, bar on roof, very friendly. WiFi link.
Would recommend for tourists and / or a holiday family hotel (but no pool).
PS Take a map (it's on the website) as it can be a b'sted to find first time out, after that it's easy.
