After reading a few threads about the clocks getting nicked I bought a few security torx bolts to replace the original torx bolts that hold the clocks in. Wile I know that's not full proof it might thwart an opportunist expecting the standard bolts.
And after some other threads I replaced the small shaft and circlip that holds screen for a M6 bolt washer and nylon nut. That's made the screen much rigid, very happy.
However, it's been bugging me that the screen is slightly tilted to the left. Just enough to notice. After a lot of measuring with the panels off iv found what's causing it. I don't know the name of the part but it's the two cast aluminium struts that hold support the front faring. One is 10mm higher than the other at there highest point. I measured from the bottom of the fork to the top of each respective strut. There each mounted using two large bolts. There is no easy adjustment possible even through the strut would need to move just 1 degree for the two to line up.
I know it could be a lot worse I have read about it on this forum.
I also predict the replies yelling "back to the dealer with it!" We'll it's not really broken is it. Having said that it's going in for its 6000 service soon so I'll take a tape measure and show them. Maybe there all like that?
