Good News. After 4 months of not riding the bike (ruptured achilles tendon) I had my first ride out today to take the bike for it's 1200 mile/ 2 year service. :clap

Bad News. Yep gearbox noisy. Man he say new one needed. Non in country or in Germany at this moment in time. Will call when he has one. :( :nenau

Good News. Warranty runs out in 4 days time!! So no cost to me. Plus new clutch will be fitted also. :clap :wave

Bike is a September 04.

Are the new gearbox's upgraded in any way from the originals??

When you say noisy, what do you mean? Under what conditions and so forth? Thanks.

Bloody ell, should that be 12000 mile :nenau :D

Sorry Zorton your right it was the 12000 mile a missed "0" must be more carefull.

Well to me the gearbox sounds ok it was Mike the technician that said he thourght the gearbox was noisy while the bike is stood ticking over?

However I must say the loan bike I had was a 1200ST. This being the only other BMW twin I have ridden other than mine and it was so vibe free compared to mine.

In hindsight at times mine felt at times as though it was running without oil? But then I would run over a different road surface and the noise and feel would become smooth. So I though it was just tyre nise on different road surface?
