Took my 71 K GS1100 for its MOT today and the old girl passed with flying colours, tester commented on how good she was saying "they don't make them like this anymore"

It made me wonder how many new models will fly through with that mileage in years to come, they definitely had a better build quality in those days,I genuinely feel for guys spending huge amounts on new tackle then having problems as it must really take the edge of a new purchase.

Hopefully BMW will sort issues quickly and let owners get on with enjoying what looks a lovely bike.

Indeed, it is great to pull up alongside much newer bikes in the knowledge that your bike is better than theirs:D

well done fella hope it last another 10 yrs keeping all 3x of my bikes !:D

Was looking like I had to get rid of one of my bikes as the Taliban thought I was having too much fun-looking like that subjects slipped under her radar for a while so certainly won't be reminding her!

My missus is completely immune to the coming and going of bikes now. I have rationalised from a max of 9 down to 6 now though.:D

Similar thing with my 105K GS that hadn't turned a wheel in 18 months. Started first time and went straight through the MOT:thumby:
