'The Shed' has been with me for 12yrs now - it was first registered on 1.8.1991 (25yrs old today in fact!) by Bingley, West Yorks man Andrew Bradley and his wife Christine.
Andrew and Christine were something of the early 'pioneers' in the GS world as the attached photo's may show ... pick your way through them and look for his changes.
Andrew, now 68, used to race scooters at the Esholt Sewage works in the 70's/80's and has owned many other 'bikes but the GS took his eye for sure.
Sadly, Andrew was diagnosed with Parkinsons Disease 18yrs ago and, despite fighting it for a couple of yrs, realised the 'bike had to go.
It went into storage for 4yrs and I was offered it shortly after being paid out from a serious crash I'd had so I had a few £ spare and decided this bike would be my treat to myself ... I was a very young dad in '91 and could only dream of owning one of these bikes at the time.
It came to me in very good/mint condition and that's the way it's stayed although the engine could do with some proper cleaning now.
I'd met Andrew and Christine about 5/6yrs ago when they saw it at a local 'bike show and we had a good chat.
As the 25th anniversary neared I got in touch with Christine to see if Andrew would appreciate a visit today. Andrew's Parkinson's had deteriorated quite significantly and that mid-afternoon was his 'best-time' so we took him completely by surprise earlier today ... I think it's fair to say the old boy was completely blown away and couldn't believe it was still in the condition as when he let it go.
