I would like to see a proper test using a 1mm thick Klingspor slitting disc.
I use them a lot for cutting high carbon and stainless steel. Even on tool steel they cut very easily.
No one in there right mind would use a 1/4 inch thick grinding disc to cut a chain or lock as in the video,not unless they wanted to make the lock look better than it is.

If a propper thief wants your bike he will take it regardless of the chain and lock etc

All they do is slow the twats down a bit

There's another video where a proper armoured chain was chopped in under a minute and cheap galvanised garden chain was chopped in about 10 seconds. They used a battery angle grinder and fine slitting disc. Grinders are better when the chain is wrapped to close to get bolt croppers on the job.

Yep, Captian Cropper demolished most of them like a hot knife through butter... the only exception being the Almax Immobiliser chain which was uncroppable! So that's the chain I've got along with the Squire padlock, Hardie ground anchor and Pragmassis anti-pinch pin. There's no way the bike is getting stolen without powertools, and even then it's going to take at least 4-5 noisy minutes to cut through and that's under ideal workshop conditions.

Makes more sense than poncing about in the dark, unless kitted with UKGSerman stealth tactical night vision goggles.

£150 for typical 18V angle grinder (probably swiped from some poor trades and van) will take out any lock in a minute or so.
Wrapping the chain tight might defeat a bolt cropper but makes it easier to get a grinder onto the job.

We have to hope the same poor tradesman didn't have one of these in his van.
