Good stops on way to Nurburgring

Off to Nurburgring Ring late September. Intending to stop 1 or 2 nights on way there and back with one night there.

Any suggestions for motor museums on route/return or WW1/WW2 sites of interest?

We don't intend to book accommodation ahead, just see what we can find. Any suggestions?

Motoring museum in the cathederal crypt in Stavelot (Spa Frncorchamps)
Bastogne inc the foxholes at Foy (Band of Brothers)
Verdun Citadel

Admittedly these are to the south by a fair schlep

There is also a big Dutch WW2 museum near Venlo, but I cant find the details at the mo'

Talbot House in Poperinge near Ypres. Awesome place to stay

we were there last week and stopped at 'two wheel moorings' in Dun-Sur-Meuse on the way

patio is on the river bank, (English) guy has loads of military stuff including a pile of guns and its only 20k from Verdun.

Probably best to give him a call first though - seemed pretty busy
