good trails in the north west

as the title says im looking for some good trails to do not too far from manchester, something that Tourances can cope with without having to change the tyres, bit of gravel, mud, water etc....
is there anything like that round here ?
the only off roading i did was on my KTM in wales, so want something closer just for a bit of fun......
any ideas greatly appreciated

There are plenty of lanes in North Wales, I know quite a few that can be done on tourances in good weather. I'm busy for the next few weekends though, so unless you fancy an evening jaunt I'm not going to be much help.

Hi Kirk,

I'm resident in London, but have relatives in Stockport. There are any number of lanes up around New Mills and Marple. Mainly gravel tracks and definitely tourance friendly. Watch out for restrictions.

Last month I did the William Hill Toll Road out of Grindleford which turns into a byway aon the more. Ref
