Well, thats done it. My troublesome 955i Tiger have been given/traded back into CMC after a painful 3 months ownership concluded with a breakdown in the middle of nowhere, and a nice shiny black Super Tenere is sat awaiting collection tomorrow. I have nothing but praise for the team at CMC and they way the dealt with the troubled Trumpet, or the deal that they put together on the XT.
I am ( fingers crossed ) looking forward to putting the miles on the XTZ and not in a recovery van!

Enjoy Goooood choice:thumb

Sweet.

Grab the Yellow WC sticker kit to pimp it up a bit, then get the ECU flashed :thumb

Still love mine, done nearly 10k in 14 months, only lack of money and time have stopped it being at least double that.

ECU

Is there a thread or details on getting ECU flashed, what is the ££££ and more importantly the difference in performance ??

Well done re the decision. The S10's aint as common but are a fine good fun bike.

They are well able to go scratchg when the mood takes & plod along.

Have a look.through recent threads, Rasher's thrown sone info up re ECU reflash.

Wear well.

That what I like about the S10, bloody GS's everywhere, common as muck, a S10 owner is not a sheep and recognises a decent bike when they see it and not swayed by the masses... :thumb

I know ppl gripe its a little top heavy, yes it is...BUT everything else works for me :thumb2 Once you are on the move its handy to throw about.

It's not as heavy as my old 1200GSA, when that was fully loaded (fuel, boxes etc) that was feckin heavy and worried me every time I took it off the cntr stand after a fuel fill up.
The S10 is much better.

There's a world of ECU info on here:

For my S10 I sent mine to off-the-road.de but their website seems to have disappeared. The flash was a same-day return job once I'd couriered it out to them in Germany. I had it back 2 days later. Massive difference to power delivery in the 1st 3 years, smoother throttle response etc. Well worth doing.

It takes a real man to tame a fully loaded GSA :D

There is a place in Essex where you can post your ECU to or ride in and wait while they do it.
You need to let them have the ECU serial beforehand so they can get the map for it.

Race Engineering, top people, they sorted mine and have done a number of Flash updates for S10's as well as fitting of Power Commanders.

So, lets make a start then...

Well, I picked it up from CMC Claycross on Friday morning, and bought the worldcrosser tank pads for it before I left. Due to other commitments i have only managed 100 miles so far, but i have to say, i love it. Ok, running in isn't fun, but i can already tell there is a great bike in there waiting to get out. Comfortable, nicely made, it's all good.
I'm going to go for the red sticker kit, rather than the yellow.
So far, a fender extender has been fitted, and engine bars, rear hugger and a sat nav mount are awaiting in the post, hopefully all will be delivered and fitted by the weekend.
Only real gripe is that the top-box is too small and not worth £300.....i should have looked at one rather than just ordered it. :blast

bike

That looks nice :D
My bike came with panniers n top box, 'agree' top box is too small to put the helmet in. blast

@kneeslider: Looks well in the black, the red kit will set it off great.

When you do run it in, you'll really like it.

Only thing I do when I wanna push on a bit, take off the back box, will make a huge difference to the handling, knock the TCS off and throw it in sport mode. Buur, burrrp....

Keep us updated with the mods you add on..wear well :thumb

So, here it is in all its glory

So, first go at my usual 100mile commute, still running it in, but so far i've fitted

SW Motech sat nav mount.
Puig engine bars
Pyramid hugger
Kneedown fender extender.

Next up, winglets, a higher/ wider screen and eventually panniers. Probably not yamaha ones though, as if they are as small as the damn topbox they will be useless and expensive at the same time. :blast

The Yamaha Wingletts are well priced, I think the luggage is not too bad, but I also found it very small and went with SW-Motech Trax setup.

This is pretty decent kit, I think I posted elsewhere about it, but on our two week Alps tour it worked well, the only real issue I have found is the box sits a bit close to the pillion, I got my bracket machined and re-loated it about 2 inches further back. Solo it is fine, and may be OK for others when two-up, we just found it a bit too cramped and uncomfy on long runs.
