Google maps and music

Hi all.
Been playing around with my phone/ headset today and found a great way to get maps and music working very well.
Linked my headset (tried my cardo 2 and a cheap BT one) with my iphone.
Open google maps and download the whole of the UK so it can be used offline ( no data used).
Then, in the google maps settings you can choose to have the music buttons ( play
,pause, ff etc) showing when google maps is open !

Turned off the data (airplane mode) and went for a ride = superb !
Music was great as it only needs to link with phone and not tft.
Maps worked a treat (no data used) and i could use the icons to ff/ rewind music on the phone .
Phone held in amazon bmw holder.
I am well impressed as trying to join up tft/phone/headset usually gives me grief.

The BMW connected app does not use data either.

But it does connect through the TFT with all the issues that brings with it

Do you know something I don’t ?

Like why does the tft lose the connection to the cardo when the phone rings ?

But of course - it doesn’t use data

Can you tell me what app settings you are using ?
Is this in the BMW app?

Monday is the first day of freedom. I have been out every weekend testing the BMW connected app for them as work is a valid reason for travel. Girlfriend had to accompany me on her new bike (S1000XR) to make sure that I could get home if the app crashed!
