Has anyone mounted a GoPro camera on the beak? Seems like quite a good place, but worried about vibration and the effect on the cooling airflow.

The beak on my 2012 1200TC is massive, so plenty of room.

I havn't, but apparantly have ;)

When i bought the bike there was a black plastic thing on the beak, i guessed it was a mount for something but didnt know what.

I pulled up at work a week or so ago, and one of my colleagues said "I see you've had your Gopro, on the front"

Naturally, i said i didn't know, oh yes he pointed out, thats a Gopro mount, (small black oblon thing with bars in the middle if i recall)

So to answer your question yes

i would have thought your mate was more surprised that you bike had actually made it to work:D

Put mine on the beak a week ago. Footage was ok but as there is no reference point that is stationary it's a little weird to watch back. I have returned to helmet mount as it's easier to turn on and off, also i have it as evidence for any SMIDSY type accidents and helmet mount shows where you are looking.

Went for a run today and works fine, vibration only with gearchanges, apart for that fine. However the PoV is not as good as helmet mounted, so probably for occasional use now. On the plus side, there was virtually no wind noise, a real issue helmet mounted.

San you use a remote mike with fluffy wind muff?

I prefer the helmet mount, but would be cool to do some "B shots" from the beak. I was thinking of using the roll cage mount on the engine bars to that effect, which could be cooler as I would be able to see to the front and a little bit of the front wheel to get a better perspective of what's going on...

Would love to get a smaller GoPRO sessions for those locations and keep the one on the helmet for the main shots.
