Gorge Du Tarn

Got back yesterday from an 8 day 2500 mile tour around France, Andorra, Spain, Germany & Belgium ....
Having ridden from Carcassonne our group ended up in the Gorges du Tarn and decided to spend the night in "Auberge du Moulin" (we didn't book just stumbled across the place) .....

Hotel was lovely & food was fantastic :beerjug: ... It's situated right by the river in the heart of the town & we couldn't have asked for more ...

The hotel owner was more than happy to allow us to park 9 bikes at the rear of the hotel on a grass / driveway area and even got the chainsaw out and started chopping up wood so we could place under our side stands on .... The rear gardens are completely secure so the bikes were safe ...

In all i think i paid 53 euro's which included evening meal, drink & breakfast ....

Really recommend this place ... might be worth booking as the season goes on ...

If you see several eagles together you're most probably looking at Griffon Vultures. Quite a common sight in the air above the gorge. When you first set eyes on them in flight you may be forgiven for thinking you've spotted hang gliders!

There's a vulture sanctuary on one of the main rotes around the gorge.
I didn't get a chance to check it out, but it looked worth a visit from the outside.

As per title shall be staying 2 nights at Millau in June which will give us a spare day to explore the area around Gorge du Tarn.

I am sure we can sort a route out, or just bimble around the area, any suggestions for a days ride, must see etc,

Thanks

Teejay

In your excitement over the chainsaw wielding owner, you forgot to tell your audience where the hotel is

+1 for the village with a bridge - sound advice.
