What on earth do BMw make their fasteners out of? I have so far sheared off 6 since buying it in November last year
1 Catalyst securing screw, 1 Sump Guard securing stud rubber thingy, 1 alternator belt cover securing screw and 2 Cylinder head plastic cover guard screws on one side and one on the other. I have a Tatty 15 year old Honda and not one of those sheared when I rebuilt it.
I am not ham fisted and use quality 1/4 drive sockets and bits. When I do get get one of the little buggers off it goes back with some anti sieze on it :clap I dread to think how many more are sat there waiting to go the next time they are touched :(
Anyone else had this or is it just me :goof

You may jest...I think! anyway that is not a bad idea in certain instances, if a fastener might be siezed, by trying to tighten it slightly can break it's grip and therefore make it easier to remove.
As I note the lack of replies I conclude it must be me :shotim
