Hi All,
Got it and it's big and yellow and it's all mine:D didn't go to far just tootled home didn't want to get it dirty:( so took my time coming back though I came across a very sad sight two cars seriously come together on the A59 coming back towards Whalley people still lying in the road waiting for the ambulances to come.
I hope injuries are not serious though it did look grim looking at the two cars.
Anyway after plod redirected me got home later and took all the hard luggage off and very carefully tried to back it through the gap in the wall when all of a sudden I got that grating/scratching sound Bloody hell I cry:mad: the bars with the hand guards on are to wide and the sickening noise was the hand guards coming into contact with the brick work.
Any way there is me half way in and half way out so to speak:D
So I think how the heck am I going to get the bike in? Solution take off the guards and try!Well it made all the difference the bike now goes through the gap with an inch to spare:) Not a lot but it is better than it being stuck outside doesn't bear thinking about! Now it just means that I will have to ride without the guards on.Shouldn't be a problem should it? Well that's me gloating over for now just thinking of what inexpensive accesories I can afford tee hee cheers all djack:D

Me too, I was going to collect mine at the crack of dawn from Sawbridgeworth, but on opening the curtains was greeted by lots of the white stuff. I went back to bed.

Went and picked the big yella fella up this afternoon. By the time I got home I was wetter than a fishs' bathing suit and just as salty. Rinsed the bike off and put it away.

The weather over the next week is looking awful too. I don't mind a bit of water but the overnight/ morning temperatures according to Sky weather are as low as -9c over the next five days so. I think the bike will be staying in the garage. :(

welcome to the mad world of 1200 GS'ers...enjoy!!!

PS djack - I dropped mine after a few hours ownership backing down our drive - my feet didn't quite touch the ground and so it was a slow mentally painful laying down...a couple of scratches and thanks to the engine bars no harm done...only to my pride...the lower seat should eliminate the problem as I stopped growing years ago...

Yes picked my GS12 up early this morning from Cardiff. Weather shite, roads covered in mud, salt etc.
Just after leaving the dealer the bike was soon covered in mud etc from roads so decided against going straight home!
Did about 100miles before getting home, then spent ages with bucket sponge + Hose pipe!

I could not wait till March 1st- so picked up my Red GS 2 weeks ago and managed 300 nice dry and salt free miles so far !!
Heated grips are ths biz- thought they were a gimmick- so wrong :o
Still getting used to the punchy acceleration, cant ride as smooth as my old K100RS yet, but I am a long time out of the saddlle!

Fantastic handling and very chuckable on the bends

I have a 6ft 3 with a 33 in leg and can only just mount the beast when on centre stand with seat in high position- but this gives such a nice riding position

Everything fab- except the embarassing horn

What do I think so far ?

:D :D :D :D :D :D

Dave

I saw your bike at Jeffers - best colour combo!!! Get it out on the Dales ride-out this Saturday - meeting at Keighley 9.30am - see the Y&H section.
