Just bought a used one from Williams BMW.

They are dropping her off a week on Thursday, so I am looking forward to getting some miles on her before the season ends.

They were good to deal with; no money off but free delivery to Aberdeen was offered and accepted.

Got her dropped off yesterday afternoon from Williams BMW in Manchester.

Took her out this morning just for an hour to get a basic feel of her and I am very happy with everything except for the noise; she is quite “unremarkable’ in that sense - even with the Akra back box.

Looking to get more miles in over the weekend and get a better appreciation of her.

Looks good.. I'll have the standard silencer too with mine, so for sure will be investigating how to open it up sensibly. Maybe a full system is the answer.

I did the NC500 on the new bike this past weekend (over 750 miles door to door) and I am very impressed with the handling and the way in which the new engine revs - especially mid and top range - and she is quick. The low level pull is still there but she properly moves when pushed - very different to my two other Boxers (R9T and a 1250 GSA).

My one came with the DSA and the Sports Package and it simply smooths out everything before you need it. The (lean sensitive) linked braking is strong, works very well and can be further fine-tuned / altered with the various riding modes. She felt light (compared to my other bikes), stable, planted and handled amazingly well, soaking up everything the NC500 roads had to offer.

The bike is very comfortable (I am 6ft, 120kg, with a 6ft 4in reach and a 32in inside leg) and I was doing almost 400 miles per day in comfort; the bike did come with the Comfort seats fitted (standard height) and adjustable foot pegs which I lowered around 20mm.

I am very impressed with her and have no reservations really except that she is quite quiet; so I am going to remove the Cat and change the headers.

Nice & having ridden those rods myself in various directions over the years, that's a good test of any bike.

I;ve found that the GS/GSA is a great tool for getting me to Scotland, but then I'd prefer something a but more nimble once there. I'm hoping the R13R will fit the bill now my 1250 GSA has gone and will make it's way to Bonnie Scotland in the back off my van!!

I have already started to look for headers and will get a re-map too...
