Colin, given any section of the NC500: how would you rate the comfort of the R1300R suspension, etc., over your 1250GS? Chalk and cheese on the face of it, but I want a R1300 but don't want another GS.

I can honestly say that she felt equal to, if not better than my 1250 GSA. That new suspension is bloody amazing. I am not a particularly quick rider but the undulating / general shite state of those roads proved no challenge at all to the new bike. I was pushing her hard enough at times (pegs down) and she felt incredibly well planted.

My one did come with the Sport Suspension and the comfort seat but my confidence grew as the miles went on and she was an absolute pleasure to ride for those 700 miles.

I will be doing the same route again when I get back home and I can’t wait.

Thought I would share with you some advice I was given by a remapper dude.

He's a few customers that have done the de-cat thing (not necessarily on the R13R) & have had their bikes impounded in EU(Germany) because of the lack of emissions control. This is on new bikes that should have the cat of course.

Advice was to keep standard headers, get a pipe which I have, and have the ECU mapped which is where the gain is.

I haven’t done any European riding since before COVID and I would just be taking the GSA if I was to head that way again but thank you very much for the information.

The bike is currently with a place getting the work done (I am back at my work for a month) and should be home at the end of the month to see the difference on her.

I hope the authorities in the UK don’t become so thorough…..
