Got the Airhead back...

Bikes back from Riche Moore at Moorespeed who fitted his airfilter conversion which uses a filter from a BMW2002 car and made a new rear brake lever that's level with the pegs plus a few other bits and bobs.

It's running really well and making a great sound enhanced by the new free frlowing induction roar.

Today should have been day 3 on the cancelled HL - I must update my web site!

Next stop The Alto Turia at the end of May with Simon and Dave

Wow thats a lot of kit mounted on the bars surly it adds a lot of weight to the steering, and wouldn't it suffer a bit in a fall?

I keep looking at these stripped down and modded bikes. Then I look at Jill's 100GS and think to myself 'if I just changed that or swapped this for a smaller/lighter....' etc etc.

Anyway your much less likely to bin it than I would be Good luck with your endeavors, and when are you going to show us some close-ups of your new air box

I'll take some pictures in the next few days - the airbox is a neat conversion because the air filter sits on a tower so sand just shakes of with the viabration. With the standard set up sand sits on op of the filter can evenually cuts power and then can fall ino the airbox when you change it.

The front end weight is fine, it looks bulky because I've mounted the switchgear and seperate switches for all the systemsand two fues boxes plus the IMO, roadboox and Zumo to keep the bars clear for navigation controls

I've did a couple of days green laneing when it came back from Bernie Wright who completed a lot of the work including beefing up the suspension front and rear, the ground was frozen and hard and I was really pleased with it's pace.

The next steps are a deep clean and then some road miles, it'll not see the dirt again untill the rally

Noticed the bike has Acerbis hand protectors

What's their proper name or anyone have a link? I've found the TT badged ones, but will guess their price is somewhat higher than the Acerbis direct cost. They're for a '88 R100GS without heated grips. TVM

Acerbis Rally Pro Hand Guards are the ones TT have rebranded for their use (and nearly double the price accordingly ).

You can get a set with a fitting kit for your bike and the additional wind defectors for just under £60
