Allihies again.. but off to Asia soon....
Had this once before a few years ago but it sorted itself out.

My four / five year old GPS 60C has decided, after a very rough ride yesterday to stop scrolling through the screens, in fact none of the buttons appear to work. Turn it on and then nowt, can't even turn it off.

Any ideas, or look out for a secondhand Quest.... Looks like I should of kept the one I had:blast

reset by taking the batteries out. if that doesn't work, i'd say it's fecked.

Or giving Garmin a call to see if there's a button hard reset procedure, and then seeing if a repair from them is going to cost more than a new one :tears

I'll guess the "we'll have a look at it" will be around the £100 mark, can get new 60csx for not that much more.

I won't be sending it to them. Its done a long loyal service, plus I recently got a full Quest kit with V9 and ram mount for a cheap price, which I then sold on for the same price.

I will look for another, Quest or 2610

I won't get another GPS60 for the simple reason that it always leaves you with no software.

I has something similar once with my zoom buttons not working on my 60c but in the end Garmin exchanged the unit. (it was just out of warranty)

Hard reset 60c = with the unit turned OFF press "PAGE+ENTER+POWER" all at the same time.
Make sure you save all you waypoints, routes and anything else you want to keep onto your PC first because this reset will wipe everything and put the unit back to factory default settings.

Cheers mark, was trying to remember how to reset it....

Left it in a warm dry place and now 36 hours later half of the buttons are working again:thumb2

Give it another day and hopefully it'll be OK again....

Happened once before but not so bad, looks like a keeper...

Seeing as my current bike is my first ever, just for fun. I suppose I should make myself a fair weather biker only....
