How do you go about disconnecting a Navigator II from a 1200GS?

The sellers local Dealer (who installed it) claims that it's a tricky procedure & that you could damage the ABS if you tried it yourself? I think it's wired in to the loom via a connector of some sort near the headstock rather than wired direct to the battery? I do know that it's not plugged in via one of the two electrical accessory outlets.

Dealer wants £50.00 to remove it from the bike so that the owner can sell it to me - sounds a bit steep to me considering he bought the bike from them in the first place.

Steve,

I've just wired a Garmin Quest mount onto my 1200 using the spur meant for the Nav II. After speaking to the techie at the dealer I just cut off the connector and soldered on my new wires. I've had no problems whatsoever.

Its a pretty standard BM connector on the right of the headstock viewed from the front- I can't see why it would take more than a couple of minutes to disconnect.

Is £50 not just an hours labour (min charge?)

I think it's hard wired in to the bike somehow, according to the dealer? They suggest buying a new power cable (£20.00?)

Sounds a bit 'iffy'.

You should be able to easily see the connector if you turn the bars full right and look from above. The connector on mine was black but I seem to remember Mouse posting a pick of his bike and it was white.

Found this pic. (from Dutchman I think) which might help.
