Finally got round to putting my tom tom go car sat nav on my bike and im over the friggin moon. And very proud of myself too! haha
My wife doesnt quite share my enthusiasm so thought I would post on here to find anyone who did!

Just found this thread. I am also a tightwad so have my very old tomtom go 510 sat nav on my 1150gs. I use the windscreen mount on the inside of the screen, powered from the aux port near the gb to a female cig lighter socket so the tomtom cig lighter power adaptor fits. Just route the cable under the tank. Not had any issues in light to moderate rain as it is kept pretty dry behind the screen but have thought of putting a clear plastic freezer bag over it in heavy rain.
