GPS for road and trail?

What is the best or most suitable GPS for use in a car/bike for road and trail use?, something with the ability to track back an off road route would be preferable.

Possibly the 60C, but the quest is better value these days. Don't know if its up to trail riding though!

The GPSmap 60C/CS and GPSmap 76C/CS will both auto-route and also trackback a tracklog.

The GPSmap 276C will do all of the above plus has a larger, brilliant screen and will give voice prompts.

The SP2610 will auto-route with voice prompts but will not trackback

quest is a brilliant bit of kit, I've used it in the car, on the BWM and on my mountain bike, the screen is superb, the offroad recalculating is astonishingly quick, use voice in the car, and the internal battery on the mountain bike.top bit of kit

The Quest will also trackback and seems better suited to a bike than the GPSmap 60C/CS or GPSmap 76C/CS.

The jury is still out on robustness of the antenna and a power/data cable that relies on the mount cradle.

Without wishing to seem facetious, but are there any GPSes which ARE robust if you are prone to falling off?

I tend to push RAM mounts while some others like fixed mounts.

A RAM mount will hold the unit firmly but will move in an off.
You end up with a small mark on the case but a useable GPS.
Fixed is fixed and it depends how far you slide
