I have a Garmin GPSIII plus which came with my bike which has a power cable with a fag lighter plug on the end. This plugs into an aftermarket accessory adaptor thing which is powered from the connector for the BM socket on the beak .
I would ideally like to do away with the accessory adaptor bank thing (looks like a blown fuse waiting to happen) and simply graft a BM plug on the end allowing it to be plugged into the BM accessory point on the beak.
I opened up the plug on the end of the garmin power lead in order to fit the new plug and found a circuit board, not the two wires i was expecting
Does this mean there is some sort of voltage reducer in there or can just graft the BM plug on the end of the lead and run it on 12V
