GPS Mount (AGAIN!)

Well, here it is, THE GPS mount I need.

Using the Motorrad Concepts billet as the base and the BM* supplied bar clamp mounting unit and a piece om wood! (temporary for a template) this is what I came to;

It can be tilted to suit height/reflections.
Does not interfere wit the clocks.
Is nearer to the rider (easier to reach and see).
Simple in design and therefore installation and should be cheap.

The down side; it's only in wood at the moment so needs someone to make one (for me to "test" you understand).

The four mounting screws on the BM bracket just clear the MC billet piece behind (though this will not matter if the plate (my bit of wood) is of sufficient thickness. I'd say around 6mm.

The four screws that fix the plate to the MC billet obviously have to match those as supplied on the MC piece.

Works for me.

Had exactly the same idea when I received my 1200.

Now sits irectly in line of sight and adjustable tilt for when the sun is behind you.

Didn't use a block of ally just a 4mm ally plate and bolted the lot together.

That is exactly what I want. I just need to get it made up.

Now, where do I get hold of a piece of ally...

Mine is mounted on the bar mounts and is too low to view easily.

Was going to have a look at the variations of mounts at Princetown and the ideas here have got the brain cell almost active

Only worries would be of unwanted rotation.

When complete I'll post some piccies.

Mine too.

The bracket supplied to mount to the bar clamps is really quite good mainly because it gives the ability to rotate to the desired angle.

I doubt it will rotate once clamped hard though. Let us know on this if you can Gazza.

I will be at Princetown if you want to have a look. GPSR can rotate a bit if running over rough ground, but a couple of rubber washers inserted into each side stops it and still allows you to position the gpsr in the best viewing position. Used the setup for over a year now with no problems.

ps your drive has no bumps, when are you going to further than that?
