GPS Mounting

I have a Touratech lockable mount for my Zumo 660 to go on my 2007 and now need somewhere to mount it.
So , do I gor for one of those over the instruments mounting bars or one of the mounting bars that fit on the risers?
Over the instruments sounds the best bet , but how much of the instruments are obscured?

I have the "above the risers" set-up, from Touratech on my GSA & my 1200RT. Rate it highly.

Thanks - that seems to be advertised as being suitable for 2008> , anyone know what the difference is between the 2007 and earlier and the 2008> risers?
