Hi all

on the way back from Princetown on sunday, my 2610 worked fine untill I got on the M5, then she mentioned that there was no satellite reception, when I got nearer to bristol when she perked up a bit and went back to work again.

Was she just bored with the motorway bit or do you think there is a satalite "shadow" whilst traveling in a continuous north east(ish) direction, is that possible?

By the way the GPS is mounted above the clocks on my 1200GS

Regards Shep

you think that was bad...
mine told me north of bristol that there were no roads at my destination......exactly the same place both going there and coming back
whatton suggestd that maybe my maps werent fully loaded......

Travelling around North Yorkshire / County Durham I must have had at least 3 "lost satellite reception". Never ever had so many. I wonder if the GPS's satellites power comes from New Orleans. Or the US / UK military were palying around?

Get yourself an external antenna and your lost satelite days will be over. My Quest used to regularly lose the satellite reception until I spent £25 at GPSW on a high gain antenna, which I have mounted inconspicuously onto my bike. In the signal strength display, I now regularly see 5 or 6 satellites at full strength and another couple at better than 75% strength, whereas with the flippy floppy Quest antenna, 3 or 4 at around 80% strength is pretty much the norm.
