GPS V, mapsource roads and rec

My City Select is only unlocked for the UK, and I'm going through France to Germany to Czech Republic. I also have roads and rec, but that doesn't seem to give me the turn-by-turn info. The new City Select seems to use far too much memory for my 19mb GPS V - what could I expect on my GPS once I'm over on the continent with only Roads and Rec - will it be of any use?

19mb gets you about 1/3rd ti 1/2 of Belgium in detail.
