I now have a GPS V (about time) but I noticed it takes a lot longer to accuire the Satalite than my old GPS III, plus I occasionally loose the Satalites when i never used to with the GPS III.
Any ideas why?

, so does it generally take a while to find them quickly.

Is there anything I can do to help, replace the arial? or an extension for the bike?

I found that the vibration caused the aerial to create a film of dust where it connects. I used to remove it at frequent intervals and clean the contacts with a dry cotton bud.

I also had to add an o ring to stop it folding over as I rode along and then losing satellites.

you can set it to be at your house as a home location rather than say the default of London, this speeds things up slightly.......
