Here you go brianmaslen; one at Agarth i used to past on the way to fantastic Dent get together that Micky sorted out; and the other is Brancaster on my SX bumming around the Norfolk coast with the Mrs;
Still an AA box, close to Campus Of May, on A93 between Dinnet and Ballater.
Got the Old AA marked key for them somewhere.

At least it used to be up until 2 or 3 years ago. Don’t know about now though.
All joking aside is there not an app for that?
What I really mean is there an aftermarket device you can stick on the outside of the fuel tank that reports to your phone ? A bit like a central heating oil tank has. If there was it would give you peace of mind and could easily be checked without changing the aesthetics.

I realise it might only be accurate when stopped or cruising, although if it was car specific it would probably have some form of signal dampening, to overcome the vagaries of sloshing when going around corners.

Is it the K1600’s turn for a trip next ?
At the moment, I have no burning plans to ride any motorcycle anywhere, JB. I have just as much fun on four wheels (irrespective of make, age or model) and / or on my bicycle.
For the jaunts I have left for 2026, I have Sid’s do to the west of France, which I’ll link to going to Gedinne (along with some other Tossers) for the classic motorcycle races. I’ll use my camper van and bicycle for that.
Up next is the west of Ireland do, for which it’s a flight and a hire car, along with Mr & Mrs ChasMill. Then, a long weekend at the Spa Classic at the end of September, which will be by car along with some friends in their cars.
Followed by, hopefully, some car racing in the Algarve, which we’ll fly to and hire a car. That will bring us into November. In between, I will need to see my elderly mother a few times, which will be by car, interspersed with seeing my daughter / granddaughter, which will be by train or car. Then there’s Wanders around London, which are on foot and / or bicycle; along with the SE region get-togethers and some meet-up’s with chums in London, all by public transport.
I did think about buying a scooter but, a scooter has no clear advantage over a motorcycle (and all the disadvantages) as far as I can see. In short, I have no use for one in London, as public transport is so easy and (for me) free and of no particular use beyond the M25 either.

A stop at a very small war grave cemetery, ‘Bleue Maison’:
The handful graves are chiefly from the later part of 2017 and 2018, but serve as a reminder that the British army was drawn from throughout the British Isles and that some poor souls died well after the war had ended and some close to its end:
And a reminder that the war also embraced young men from a long way away, too:
There is a solitary grave from the Second World War. It is possible that this solitary soldier fell in the retreat to Dunkirk, simply as we are close to / on the the route that the retreating British army took falling back in retreat to the coast. The town of Cassel (which I pass through quite shortly) features in a valiant rearguard action, the trooos ordered to fight to the last man, which they did.
