The annualy Grampian Motorcycle convention is on this Sunday at the Transport museum in Alford and for a change the forcast is a lovely day. I've been loads of times and always enjoy it. Theres quite a few trade stands, classic display and various stunt shows and racing on but the best thing is being out with like minded folk.

Unfortunately I will be in Germany with Ronno and the gang so will miss it this year which is a shame but can recomend it.

If you do go I also recomend a trip round the transport museum there, you will see my mates friction drive Nera car in there...... odd to say the least:rob

Watch for the speed cameras by the way. Normally near to Alford and also between Torphins and Garlogie:rob

That museum is like the TARDIS, and definitely worth a look.

My dad had a NERACAR frame in his workshop for many years, never found out what the whole thing actually looked before the internet appeared...

Good advice Andy. I was going to be there Saturday, but will be heading to friends near Loch Lomond to finish rebuilding the Austin Seven's dynamo. I'm curling Saturday in Hamilton, so will take the GS and get some good runs round Glasgow instead since the weather may be really great.

ps - I was at the Grampian Transport Museum last week, it's a pretty great motorcycle display. And they had a convention of restored Ford Capri's and Ford Escorts. Big fun over lunch when some fellow in a souped up Nissan decided to lock up the brakes around the track, launch a hay-bale 5m in the air and then slam her into the wood/steel barrier. Bit of a bill for the front end expected ...
