I took off the rear wheel on my 03 Rockster and when I should put it back I greased the bolts and the surfaces around the hub with aluminium grease.
Then I went inside to check the torque for the bolts, and in the manual it said that those surfaces should under no circumstances be greased with anything!! They were a bit rusty and oxided, and it was some transprent thin grease on the bolts already wich must come from the BMW workshop....
Anyone who knows if I will have to take everything apart and clean it, or if it's just some strange idea from BMW? And why shouldn't they be greased in that case? To get the right torque?
Thanks
