Rather than making a mess of my XChallenge learning to ride off-road (the 1150GSA doesn't even come into the picture!), I'm seriously considering buying a Honda CRF250X (lighter, less power etc). While in London I've booked a test ride for tomorrow with Tippets at Tolworth. I will be grateful if someone knowledgeable of the area can point me in the direction of a small grassy patch or lane where I can at least stand up to pootle around and be a little less likely to scratch the bike if I drop it. I certainly don't need any jumps, ruts etc.!
Thanks,
Steve
Oh, and if anyone has a little used CRF250X that they wish to sell, please let me know:thumb2

Generally speaking riding off road bikes around here on odd bits of land might get you the sort of attentionyou don't want. Embarrasing to get a test bike seized! There is some land near me where bikes get ridden, but I know the Police are watching it.

This place has the space and is about a mile away http://www.vicallantraining.co.uk/ but whether they can help I'm not sure.

There is a green lane that starts at "Bocketts Farm Park" (on google) which is 10 miles away. Let me know if you want more details.

Failing that, can you ask Tippets. whilst I've never bought a bike from them, I've used them for bits and pieces and always found them very helpful.
