I'm not in the UK this weekend otherwise I'd be happy to show you around.

PM'd you back :thumb

Quite clearly not assuming you mean this:
http://www.bdcc.co.uk/XMarksTheSpot.htm?g=SP2017934474&t=SP2017934474
It is a footpath.
You cannot ride on a Footpath or a bridleway.

You can only ride on A, B and C class roads, some but not all Unclassified County Roads (sometimes shown as Other Routes with Public Access and sometimes show as a white road on the OS map - not all ORPAs or white roads have vehicular rights of way tho), Byways Open to All Traffic that are not subject to a Traffic Regulation Order, and some Restricted Byways (marked as Road Used as a Public Path on older OS maps) but only if they have a valid claim to upgrade them to BOAT. Determining if they have a valid claim is very difficult so they are best avoided.

The legend of your OS map will show you what symbols are used to represent the different rights of way.

Use http://www.trailwise.org.uk/gmaps/gmap.htm to find legal trails. There aren't many in the cotswolds tho. The fosse way SW of Cirencester is the main one.

How did you do that Adam ?

Is there a guide on here somewhere about mapping ? This is the first time that I have seem OS style full screen mapping. Perhaps I have just has my head in he sand L
I can only get a small screen Multimap and I like the full screen feature and I like your "X" even more :D
The site is for the Bracknell District Caving Club, and the mapping is obviously multimap.
I guess there is some agreement between them for the software use. You don't seem to be able to do it on multimap itself tho.:nenau

I don't have anything to do with BDCC, I just saw someone else using their map facility and saved it to my favourites. To use it, just click and drag to the area you want and then right click on the spot you want to mark and it gives you the option "link to here". Copy the URL from the pop up and then use it as a link wherever. :)
It comes in dead handy for discussing routes and problems such as obstructions, washouts etc.

The ORPA (pink dots) is not an indication of vehicular ROW, just (as the name suggests) that it carries a public ROW of some sort. Chances are that it is vehicular, but without checking the definitive map and list of streets for the local council it is impossible to tell from an OS map unfortunately.

Thats where http://www.trailwise.org.uk/gmaps/gmap.htm comes in.
Hopefully someone will have already put the effort in and done the research on the lane you are interested in.
In this case it seems they have, and that network appears to be UCR with vehicular ROW.
Note the emphasis on appears. Trailwise is a great facility but it is not the definitive map or list of streets, and they are the only legal record of what is and isn't a legal ROW.
