IS there a list for great roads in Ireland (nth & sth) or even by county on the forum. Doesnt have to be fast roads just all classes of roads that have that certain :clap factor :JB

Hi

What a good question, I do have a few favourites of my own which I go back to time and time again.

The Antrim coast road, Torr Head and the North coast well just brilliant.
The road from Blacklion to Sligo, smile factor 7
Loads in Donegal but my favourite is the N56 from south of Dunglow to Maas and Glenties. The gap of Mamore is good too plus the roads around Mulroy Bay.

Just thinking, there absolutely loads down the west coast. I must try to list them or video the experience.

A list would be great though.

Most of the R roads in Monaghan, Cavan, Leitrim and Sligo are great riding roads. Generally very well surfaced, little traffic and twisty as feck. :)

TOP OF ANY LIST . .

. . the Tim Healy Pass, from Adrigole, North, a favourite of the late Bud Ekins.

R162 Monaghan Ballybay
R181 Ballybay Shercock
R162 Shercock Kingscourt
R164 Kingscourt Moynalty
R191 Moynalty Baileborough
R178 Baileborough Shercock
And back to Ballybay and Monaghan.
Great run, occasional surface dressing in places today so some gravel, but the biggest hazard was a lump of hay which proved to be a bit butt clenching. Have just pulled the seat out of my arse.

Also the R158 from Kilcock to Summerhill, and Trim then the R154 to Athboy is a cracker, you can keep some speed on and go through some lovely curves. :thumb2
