I've used Simply bearings for oddball stuff with no problems.
Seem reliable and also helpful
I tried one once as really liked the look but found the riding position for me was very uncomfortable. How are you finding it ?
Thanks for the reply , I have used them a few times before , its not the sourcing of the part I have the question with , that bit is easy , it is the suitability and longevity of a non OEM part in this application I have the concern over and hence my question . @theoneandonly what would you advise ?john,i have in the past used gateshead bearings ,they also do alsorts of seals etc, a brilliant local company to us ,and on the odd occasion they dont have what you want, they will do their best to get it for you

As long as the surface is unblemished and not grooved or abrasive I believe you would be fine with the Non OE
It is only for oil retention in an Unpressurised vessel Not a High pressure area
is there a breather and is it possibly blocked ? or is it just a bit of overfill dripping off ??
If you clean it with Brake cleaner and put a sheet of paper under it now does it re appear ??
The BMW R1150GS seal is a different size (10mm deep rather than 8mm) ??same seal as an 1150gs
