Ground Anchors

Some of you aleady have these,and a few more have asked about them,so your wish is my command.

They are pretty simple really,you bolt them to the floor with two 10mm rawlbolts,and when you put your chain through it,you can't get at the bolt heads.

Once you have your back wheel resting against it,and the bike on the centre stand,it's almost impossible to get the bike off the stand and away when the wheel is chained the anchor.

These are bare steel,so they'll be alright for use in the garage.I'll be doing some galvanised and powder coated ones later in the year.

The bare metal ones are £12.50 each + postage,which will probably be about £6,because they weigh about 3lb each.

At a guess - very
you'd have to make 2 cuts lengthways in a tight spot ... you'd almost certainly be better attacking the lock/chain.

There wasn`t a photo of the bit of box section offcut you`re flogging when I posted.

Now I`ve seen it,as previously mentioned,a squirt of plumber`s freeze spray and a lump hammer will deal with yer mingebag comedy store 'security chain' shown there far quicker and easier than any attack on the box section.

What size is the hole for the chain?

The box section is 50x50 with a 5mm wall thickness,so quite a decent size chain will fit.It's trial and error really

How about making a U shape.

You can put the rear wheel into it and secure it with an iron bar accross the open end?

Does this mean the panniers for the 1200 are ready as you've now got time to play around

Saw these last week when I popped into to Cassa Vern for a coffee

Got to admit having seen them and the one he uses to secure his trailer if I needed to anchor some ground these would be the babies I'd go for
