Folks

has anyone ever fitted the fuel injection pipe distribution pipe spider that runs from the main pressure valve to the injectors?. I cannot see a way without stripping out half of the rear of the bike.

The pipe broke at the injector manifold originally. I got a second hand spider which itself had been repaired with flexible fuel line and clips (should have told me something) I have hust used one of the manifolds of that spider and used some of the fuel line to join the device to the original hard plastic pipe. I would rather have the pukka part in place instread of this bodge, as the petrol is under high pressure.

Any thoughts?

Thats about right i'm afraid. The airbox has to be moved back. And the only way to move it back is raise the rear subframe. :blast

Thanks

Thank you for this info, It was I had feared! Looks like the GS has some of the achilles heels shared with other modern bikes. Dont think I will do the run up through Africa just yet!

If your not bothered about looks, you can fit another one above the airbox, with some flexible fuel line replacing the rigid line.

Same method would get you out if the shite in a hurry if your on a tour.
