GS 1150 metal top box

Having just moved from an 1150 to an ADV I believe you could retro fit but would need to convert your seating arrangement to that of an adventure.
It has been done many times but the cost plus the BM topbox may put you off.
Have a look at Hepko and Becker Expedition top boxes. They are, or were, doing 10% discount which brings the price down to aboiut £220 plus post.

You do get a bigger rear rack as part of the topbox setup.
Have a look, you want the ALU TC35 box and the rack is ALL 8v GS.

you can fit the bmw adv topbox and the topbox rack onto the standard r1150gs . 
no need at all to change to the adv seat or subframe.
